This was our first Estuary Day celebration held at Oakland Lake on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
Friends of Alley Pond Park joined NYC Dept. of Parks, NYC Dept. of Sanitation, Alley Pond Environmental Center, Urban Park Rangers, NYC Dept. of Recreation, Queens County Bird Club, Natural Areas Conservancy, and Council Board 11’s Parks Committee, to name a few, to bring education and fun to adults and children alike. The activities included birding hike, a release of monarch butterflies, canoe riding, along various outreach tables.
