Yearly Archives: 2021
On 6/26/21, we went to Oakland Lake to tackle invasive knotweed on the west end of the Park

Thanks to donations from our membership and the larger community, we are pleased to present the sign that Parks has been able to purchase with the funds.

On Saturday, March 20th, Friends of Alley Pond Park members walked the trails to pick up litter and work in small groups to remove invasive plants.

FoAPP members participated in an It’s My Park program on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Oakland Lake. Led by Hannah Kirshenbaum and Anna Kremer of the NYC Queer Birders, we explored the birds of Oakland Lake. In addition, NYC Urban Park Rangers facilitated a general clean-up, providing guidance along with garbage bags and grabbers. Photos taken by Anna Kremer.

On October 17th, 2020, the Friends of Alley Pond Park organized a clean-up and invasive plant removal. Check out some photos from the event below
